Researchers attributed a September 2026 influence campaign targeting U.S. Democratic Senate candidates to the Russia-linked Matryoshka/Operation Overload network. The campaign reportedly used AI-cloned celebrity voices and fabricated, news-branded videos to spread false or unsubstantiated claims on social media. Celebrities and CNN rejected the manipulated statements and unauthorized branding, which were intended to influence U.S. voters before the midterms.

The Facebook page "Tana t'zezat" allegedly posted three AI-generated videos purporting to show expatriates at Pristina Airport saying they would not vote for Albin Kurti. The videos reportedly mimicked street-interview footage by using microphones styled to resemble Kosovo television broadcasters Klan Kosova and T7, and were reportedly assessed as highly likely to be AI-generated.

Two purported deepfake videos circulated on X using former student Zyon Lewis's identity to allegedly falsely accuse Texas U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico of sexual assault. Lewis said the person depicted was not him and denied the allegation. Researchers linked the videos to the Russia-aligned Storm-1516 influence operation. The original account was suspended, but copies continued to circulate.

Fourteen purportedly AI-generated TikTok videos were reportedly posted by NoFilterNews from December 6–8, 2025, using television-news styling to promote election and diaspora-mobilization claims about Kosovo's December 28 elections. The videos purportedly favored Vetëvendosje and reportedly reached hundreds of thousands of viewers, and is alleged to have appeared to distort audience perceptions of political support.
